RIO DE JANEIRO — Standing atop a trailer with the Atlantic Ocean behind him, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro complained to a crowd of roaring supporters about a vast conspiracy against him.

Two women carried a banner calling on the armed forces to “protect our constitution, our liberty and our elections.” Demonstrators griped about “fake news” and the journalists who had slandered their candidate.

Bolsonaro had summoned tens of thousands of his supporters to this city’s signature CopacabanaAll images beach Wednesday to protest what he insisted was a rigged vote.
Never mind that the election hasn’t actually taken place yet.

For months, Bolsonaro has been preempting his own expected loss in October’s presidential vote by borrowing from the playbook of former President Donald Trump, whom he describes as his “idol”and with whom he shares several political advisers.

He has repeatedly criticized the integrity of Brazil’s voting system and has suggested that he may not accept the results of the election, which most polls predict he will lose decisively in a runoff with former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, known as Lula.

Is it possible that Balsonaro also has started a fake university like Trump, All imagescheated on his taxes like Trump, and cheated on his three wives?

Oops, believe it or not, this guy has had 3 wives, just like Trump!

“If needed,” Bolsonaro has said, he and his supporters “will go to war.”

What exactly that means is anybody’s guess. Some analysts fear that Bolsonaro, a former army officer who praises Brazil’s not-so-distant military dictatorship, could be plotting a coup or an insurrection modeled on the attempted takeover of the U.S. Capitol by supporters of Trump.

Attention, MAGAs. Bolsonaro is the perfect guy for you. Please move to Brazil, and save the sane Americans more grief.

They place Bolsonaro among a global tide of leaders with authoritarian leanings who have weakened democracies in recent years, from Hungary to El Salvador. All images

“We have learned the hard way over the years to listen to these kinds of leaders when they tell us what they’re going to do,” said Brian Winter, vice president for policy at the Council of the Americas, who predicted that Brazil is headed for “an institutional crisis.”

With the president and his family members facing a number of corruption investigations, Winter said, “Bolsonaro has a lot to lose.”

Hmm, corruption investigations, just like Trump.

Many here believe that if Lula wins — polls currently show him with a 10-point lead — a peaceful transition of powerwill depend on the depth of Bolsonaro’s backing within the military — and the reaction of his supporters. All images

Trump, like Bolsonaro, wanted to hold a vast military parade, but the generals wouldn’t do it. Thank goodness our military leaders recognize Trump for the psychopath he is and didn’t go along with his lies. Very Hitlerian.

Bolsonaro criticized efforts to legalize abortion, complained about what he calls “gender ideology” and warned that if the left takes power, Brazil will become like “Venezuela and Nicaragua.”

He called the opposition “evil” and warned that his rival would flout the constitution.

And the beat goes on. The parallels between Trump and Hitler and Mussolini are remarkable. All images

Not unlike the United States, political polarization has risen markedly here over the last decade, with political conflicts and culture wars shattering friendships, ruining family gatherings and on occasion spilling violently into the streets.

IF IT ALL SOUNDS FAMILIAR, IT IS FAMILIAR. NOTHING IS NEW

Trump’s followers believe they have discovered the final solution and that Trump would save them from the “swamp.”.

Through the centuries, all dictatorships begin and end the same way. They start with a man, usually a man, claiming that times were great in the past and things are terrible now, but he can make them great again.

Whether the soon-to-be dictator courted communists, fascists, Maoists, religious extremists, or conservative extremists, the problems always were blamed on “outsiders” or those who were “different.”

Hitler and Mussolini had the Jews and Gypsies. Stalin had the “Bonapartists,” Mao had the “intellectuals,” and Trump has his Mexican and Muslim immigrants to blame.

All dictators love the military, for it is the military that could aid, resist, or depose them. Trump loves the trappings of the military so much that he wanted to have that massive military parade in his honor. Strangely, he dissed the families of soldiers and the soldiers themselves who had died in service. All images

All dictators trust no one. They surround themselves with weak, immoral incompetents, often relatives, who would not be a threat to their own power.

Trump’s astoundingly long list of the weak, inexperienced, immoral, incompetent, or convicted swamp characters includes Joe Arpaio, Conrad Black, Ben Carson, Michael Cohen, Chris Collins, Dinesh D’Souza, Scott DesJarlais, Michael Flynn, Rick Gates, Dustin Heard, Duncan Hunter, Jared Kushner, Evan Liberty, Paul Manafort, Tom Marino, George Papadopoulos, Lynne Patton, Rob Porter, Scott Pruitt, Tom Reed, Wilbur Ross, Nicholas Slatten, Paul Slough, Steve Stockman, Roger Stone, Ivanka Trump, and Alex van der Zwaan.

Some he pardoned to gain their loyalty. Even today, he promises to pardon the felons who invaded Congress, threatened the life of the Vice President, and tried to overthrow the U.S. government. Trump claims these traitors are “badly treated,” though people have spent decades in jail for less serious crimes. All images

Dictators get very rich and keep close to a few who become very rich. We see it in Russia’s oligarchs and China’s billionaires. All are pals of the leader. The rest of the country suffers because dictators don’t care about the country but about personal power.

In short, Trump is nothing new.

He follows the modus operandum of all the dictators. And the MAGAs are not new, either. They follow in the footsteps of those who believed what Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Mao, Kim, Castro, et al. told them.

The outcome is always the same: A brutal dictatorship overthrown with much bloodshed and replaced by an even more brutal dictatorship. Trump's Truth Social barred from Google Play - BBC News

Message to the MAGAs: When the dictator gains power, his followers are not spared. They suffer the same brutality as the rest of the population.

Be careful what you wish for and open your eyes. Dictators are psychopaths. None of them have mercy or loyalty. Trump is a proven psychopath.

What you do for Trump will not be rewarded or appreciated by Trump. You will be punished with the rest of us.

MONETARY SOVEREIGNTY

Your America on the brink. Don’t give Trump the excuse he so desperately wants.

Every dictatorship in history has begun with a strongman (not necessarily a “strong man”), assuring the populace that he is interested only in protecting the people, usually from “outsiders.”

Most dictators are psychopaths, who are interested only in themselves, believing as they do that the entire world revolves around them.

Donald Trump is an extreme psychopath, according to the Robert Hare Checklist of Psychopathy Symptoms.  Amazingly, he meets all 20 criteria.

He also is a dictator wannabe, who already has indicated he is ready, willing, and able to send in his military to maintain his version of  “Law and Order.”

He is begging you for the opportunity.

To protect your America, you must not give it to him.

STAFF NEWS & ANALYSIS
Here’s What the Revolution will Look Like
By Joe Jarvis – June 10, 2020

In 2018, the Pentagon held a “War Game” depicting a scenario where the military would be deployed against the American people.

The Intercept has published documents detailing the background information on the exercise.

The Pentagon imagined a disenfranchised Generation Z, strapped with college debt and no opportunities.

They have lost faith in the American Dream, and believe the system is rigged against them.

So they rise up.

To be clear, the scenario is fictitious, and shouldn’t be interpreted as being based on real intelligence. However, the Pentagon tries to make the War Game scenarios realistic.

And it certainly identifies real reasons why people are pissed off at the establishment.

“The system”, from the Federal Reserve to the Police State, has kept people under the thumb of the government, and their corporate cronies.

The US military clearly thinks this is along the lines of the threats they will face over the next decade. The exercise material details the scenario:

In early 2025, a cadre of these disaffected Zoomers launch a protest movement. Beginning in “parks, rallies, protests, and coffee shops” — first in Seattle; then New York City; Washington, D.C.; Los Angeles; Las Vegas; and Austin — a group known as Zbellion begins a “global cyber campaign to expose injustice and corruption and to support causes it deem[s] beneficial.”

During face-to-face recruitment, would-be members of Zbellion are given instructions for going to sites on the dark web that allow them to access sophisticated malware to siphon funds from corporations, financial institutions, and nonprofits that support “the establishment.”

The gains are then converted to Bitcoin and distributed to “worthy recipients” including fellow Zbellion members who claim financial need…

Gen Z’s most militant members have essentially taken to privately taxing large corporations and other institutions to combat income inequality or, as the war gamers put it, using the “cyber world to spread a call for anarchy.”

Now here we are in 2020, and sadly the military being used against the American people has become a distinct possibility.

And it starts in Seattle.

“Welcome to Free Capital Hill”
A section of Seattle has declared itself a Free Autonomous Zone.

Protesters, who claim they have the support of the businesses within the area, have set up roadblocks, and occupied an abandoned police precinct.

Police and National Guard units pulled out of the area, though helicopters are still monitoring the situation. Police barricades and walls have been used by protesters to create a defensive traffic flow through the area. There are reports of armed citizens guarding the entrances to the area.

The police department sign has been altered to read “People Department.”

Donald Trump is capable of seizing on this as an excuse to order his military to “prevent looting and to keep the peace.”

It is exactly how dictatorships are built. They begin with your anger at the government and a feeling of helplessness.

Then the anger is stoked by a dictator-in-waiting, who blames the media and “outside agitators” for all your troubles.

Then the dictator steps in because he is “the only one” who can bring peace to you and your nation.

The result is indeed peace, but a kind of peace you do not want — it is a heavy-handed, deadly peace that comes with the elimination of your civil rights.

Trump has made no secret of his ambitions. He doesn’t even make a secret of his lies.

So long as his own political party does not have the morals or courage to call him out, Trump will continue to lie with impunity.

His followers will engage in “Whataboutism” attempting to normalize the outrageous.

Today, Trump defends the Gestapo officer policeman, a man who already had multiple complaints against him, and who unnecessarily pushed down an elderly man, nearly killing him.

Trump’s defense consists of the usual lies and false accusations about the elderly man being an “agent provocateur,” “the Fake media,” “outsiders,” and the “antifa,” a so-called “organization” that does not even exist as an organization. (It simply describes diverse people all of whom have only one thing in common: They oppose fascisim. No wonder Trump hates them.)

And here come Trump’s usual, invented conspiracy accusations against the Democrats, Hillary, Obama, George Soros, and the Washington Post, and the New York Times.

In creating false enemies, he works right from the dictator’s playbook

This all may seem quite new and exciting to the people who hate the government and blacks, but living in America, they don’t truly understand the horrors of dictatorship.

They yearn for someone to protect them from immigrants and people whose ancestors came from  “shithole” countries, as Trump promises.

And then come the wealthy, who see Trump as the man who can provide compliant slave labor for the factories — low-wage workers who dare not protest harsh working conditions or bigotry lest they be violently attacked by a cruel military.

Trump is singing a very familiar siren song. We have heard it so many times before, down through history, it is a wonder anyone still is fooled.

Those who believe him will see their lives and dreams shattered by a terrible reality they never had anticipated.

Protestors should be careful not to go so far as to provide Trump with the excuse he craves. March, protest, speak, write letters, but do not attack police or destroy property.

You need allies, but rioting and property destruction will give you enemies. It’s what Trump hopes you will do.

And in November, you know what to do.

VOTE.

Be prepared for the GOP first to try to deny you the vote.

Then, Trump will deny his defeat, claim the election was rigged, and in the two months from the election date to the inauguration date, attempt to seize the Presidency using his command of the armed forces.

Don’t let it happen. Your America is on the brink. Dictators seldom seize power. The people give it to them.

THE SOLE PURPOSE OF GOVERNMENT IS TO IMPROVE AND PROTECT THE LIVES OF THE PEOPLE.

The most important problems in economics involve:

  1. Monetary Sovereignty describes money creation and destruction.
  2. Gap Psychology describes the common desire to distance oneself from those “below” in any socio-economic ranking, and to come nearer those “above.” The socio-economic distance is referred to as “The Gap.”

Wide Gaps negatively affect poverty, health and longevity, education, housing, law and crime, war, leadership, ownership, bigotry, supply and demand, taxation, GDP, international relations, scientific advancement, the environment, human motivation and well-being, and virtually every other issue in economics. Implementation of Monetary Sovereignty and The Ten Steps To Prosperity can grow the economy and narrow the Gaps:

Ten Steps To Prosperity:

1. Eliminate FICA

2. Federally funded Medicare — parts A, B & D, plus long-term care — for everyone

3. Social Security for all or a reverse income tax

4. Free education (including post-grad) for everyone

5. Salary for attending school

6. Eliminate federal taxes on business

7. Increase the standard income tax deduction, annually.

8. Tax the very rich (the “.1%”) more, with higher progressive tax rates on all forms of income.

9. Federal ownership of all banks

10.Increase federal spending on the myriad initiatives that benefit America’s 99.9%

The Ten Steps will grow the economy and narrow the income/wealth/power Gap between the rich and the rest.

Coming soon to your life: The Dictator App

It takes only two things to keep people in chains:
The ignorance of the oppressed
and the treachery of their leaders.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Let us introduce the subject of a “Dictator App” with excerpts from today’s Chicago Tribune:

President Donald Trump has called Sayfullo Saipov “the degenerate animal who killed, and so badly wounded, the wonderful people on the West Side,” demanded the death penalty in his case and raised the prospect of sending him to the detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

He also has exaggerated, repeatedly suggesting that Saipov brought in two dozen potentially “evil” family members. Under immigration rules, he would not have been able to bring in that number.

Trump conceded in a Thursday night interview that his statement might not be true.

Presidents, who have authority over the Department of Justice, typically stay silent on even the most egregious cases rather than offer statements that could complicate prosecutions or give ammunition to defense attorneys.

Trump has not followed suit.

Indeed, his tweeted insult at Saipov on Friday came amid a blast of criticism of the FBI and Justice Department, which he accused of dallying in prosecuting his 2016 opponent, Hillary Clinton.

Trump offered no evidence of illegalities on Clinton’s part.

“At some point, the Justice Department, and the FBI must do what is right and proper,” Trump tweeted. “The American public deserves it!” On Thursday night, in a radio interview, Trump said he was “frustrated” that he could not officially order officials to prosecute Clinton.

Bob Corker of Tennessee, a Republican who has become a strong critic of Trump.

“President Trump’s pressuring of the Justice Department and FBI to pursue cases against his adversaries and calling for punishment before trials take place are totally inappropriate,” he said.

Now imagine that Trump knows everything you do, everywhere you go, everyone you meet, every day — and for whatever reason, he doesn’t like you.Image result for trump tower chicago american flag

So based on his minute-by-minute detailed knowledge of your entire life he orders the Justice Department, the Internal Revenue Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation prosecute you.

Why? Because he can.

Not only that, but he blasts you in social media, and these comments are republished in newspapers, TV, and radio. Now the entire country hates you, especially the dolts who believe whatever Trump says.

Think about that, and then read this:

“Smart City” in China Uses AI to Track Every Movement of Citizens, Enforce Laws
By Timothy Revell

Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding Limited is aiding the Chinese police state in catching people who break the law, tracking criminals in real time in their new “smart city” of Hangzhou, home to 9 million people.

They are using video feeds and artificial intelligence, tracking things as petty as illegal parking in real time, putting the city under total surveillance.

Using hundreds of thousands of cameras located across the city and artificial intelligence, they were able to do a lot: for the people who control the city, not the residents.

However, the police state implications are the last thing to be mentioned by mainstream science articles covering the issue.

They are falling for it: because if you disregard the immorality of the Chinese government and its laws, and the danger of total surveillance, traffic congestion is allegedly down and other aspects of city life are allegedly more efficient now.

Total knowledge and total control is every dictator’s dream. When anyone disagrees with him, he will know, and be able to punish the “offender,” just as Trump wished to punish Barack Obama for . . . what? Not being a citizen?

And just as Trump wishes to punish Hillary Clinton for . . . what? Opposing him?

“The stated goal was to improve life in Hangzhou by letting artificial intelligence process this data and use it to control aspects of urban life.

The trial has been so successful that the company is now packaging the system for export to other places in China – and eventually the rest of the world.

Using AI to optimize Hangzhou has had many positive effects. Traffic congestion is down, road accidents are automatically detected and responded to faster, and illegal parking is tracked in real time.

If someone breaks the law, they too can be tracked throughout the city before being picked up by the police.”

In a world run by Donald Trump, what is the law? Answer: Whatever Trump says it is. Facts, no facts, it all makes no difference to Trump. He just blurts out opinions based on his mood at the moment or nothing at all.

Global warming? Hey, that’s just a “Chinese hoax.”

Women, who say Trump groped them? “They all are liars.”

The Trump University scam? It was a “great university.”

“I wasn’t in the army because I had a ‘heel spur.'”

“CHAIN MIGRATION must end now!” Trump tweeted. “Some people come in, and they bring their whole family with them, who can be truly evil. NOT ACCEPTABLE! This man that came in — or whatever you want to call him — brought in, with him, other people. And he was a point — he was the point of contact — the primary point of contact for — and this is preliminary — 23 people that came in, or potentially came in with him. And that’s not acceptable.”

Except 23 people didn’t come in and when FOX news host Laura Ingraham asked Trump about that figure, he hedged, “It’s what I heard, it’s what I gave. Whether it’s 23 or whether it’s two, as far as I’m concerned, it’s too much, OK?

See, to Trump, facts never matter. The only thing that matters is how he feels at that moment.

Imagine what he could do with total knowledge of what everyone is doing and thinking.

Efficiency does not equal happiness. Life is not improved by efficiency, or even money necessarily. Human happiness cannot possibly be acquired at the expense of everything that a “smart city” would destroy.

The founder of the company creating this “city brain project” is certainly not subject to the same surveillance that the residents of Hangzhou are.

An executive from this corporation had the audacity to speak of privacy as if it was some trivial, silly thing that only paranoid people need.

“In China, people have less concern with privacy, which allows us to move faster,” said Xian-Sheng Hua, manager of artificial intelligence at Alibaba, speaking at World Summit AI recently.

A whole documentary was recently made about the technocratic future being constructed for the non-wealthy citizens of the world. This excerpt from it perfectly explains the dangers this article is trying to warn of.

The horrifying combination of a lying, immoral, dictator, together with a program that knows what you’re doing, what you’re saying, and what you’re thinking — that is the platform for the enslavement of you, your children and all of America.Image result for blade runner police attack

And the Dictator App is not just coming “soon to your life,” as the title of this post says. It is here.

Trump is here. The program is here. The fools who support Trump are here. All the ingredients are here.

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

The most important problems in economics involve the excessive income/wealth/power Gaps between the have-mores and the have-less.

Wide Gaps negatively affect poverty, health and longevity, education, housing, law and crime, war, leadership, ownership, bigotry, supply and demand, taxation, GDP, international relations, scientific advancement, the environment, human motivation and well-being, and virtually every other issue in economics.

Implementation of The Ten Steps To Prosperity can narrow the Gaps:

Ten Steps To Prosperity:
1. ELIMINATE FICA (Ten Reasons to Eliminate FICA )
Although the article lists 10 reasons to eliminate FICA, there are two fundamental reasons:
*FICA is the most regressive tax in American history, widening the Gap by punishing the low and middle-income groups, while leaving the rich untouched, and
*The federal government, being Monetarily Sovereign, neither needs nor uses FICA to support Social Security and Medicare.
2. FEDERALLY FUNDED MEDICARE — PARTS A, B & D, PLUS LONG TERM CARE — FOR EVERYONE (H.R. 676, Medicare for All )
This article addresses the questions:
*Does the economy benefit when the rich can afford better health care than can the rest of Americans?
*Aside from improved health care, what are the other economic effects of “Medicare for everyone?”
*How much would it cost taxpayers?
*Who opposes it?”
3. PROVIDE A MONTHLY ECONOMIC BONUS TO EVERY MAN, WOMAN AND CHILD IN AMERICA (similar to Social Security for All) (The JG (Jobs Guarantee) vs the GI (Guaranteed Income) vs the EB (Economic Bonus)) Or institute a reverse income tax.
This article is the fifth in a series about direct financial assistance to Americans:

Why Modern Monetary Theory’s Employer of Last Resort is a bad idea. Sunday, Jan 1 2012
MMT’s Job Guarantee (JG) — “Another crazy, rightwing, Austrian nutjob?” Thursday, Jan 12 2012
Why Modern Monetary Theory’s Jobs Guarantee is like the EU’s euro: A beloved solution to the wrong problem. Tuesday, May 29 2012
“You can’t fire me. I’m on JG” Saturday, Jun 2 2012

Economic growth should include the “bottom” 99.9%, not just the .1%, the only question being, how best to accomplish that. Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) favors giving everyone a job. Monetary Sovereignty (MS) favors giving everyone money. The five articles describe the pros and cons of each approach.
4. FREE EDUCATION (INCLUDING POST-GRAD) FOR EVERYONE Five reasons why we should eliminate school loans
Monetarily non-sovereign State and local governments, despite their limited finances, support grades K-12. That level of education may have been sufficient for a largely agrarian economy, but not for our currently more technical economy that demands greater numbers of highly educated workers.
Because state and local funding is so limited, grades K-12 receive short shrift, especially those schools whose populations come from the lowest economic groups. And college is too costly for most families.
An educated populace benefits a nation, and benefitting the nation is the purpose of the federal government, which has the unlimited ability to pay for K-16 and beyond.
5. SALARY FOR ATTENDING SCHOOL
Even were schooling to be completely free, many young people cannot attend, because they and their families cannot afford to support non-workers. In a foundering boat, everyone needs to bail, and no one can take time off for study.
If a young person’s “job” is to learn and be productive, he/she should be paid to do that job, especially since that job is one of America’s most important.
6. ELIMINATE FEDERAL TAXES ON BUSINESS
Businesses are dollar-transferring machines. They transfer dollars from customers to employees, suppliers, shareholders and the federal government (the later having no use for those dollars). Any tax on businesses reduces the amount going to employees, suppliers and shareholders, which diminishes the economy. Ultimately, all business taxes reduce your personal income.
7. INCREASE THE STANDARD INCOME TAX DEDUCTION, ANNUALLY. (Refer to this.) Federal taxes punish taxpayers and harm the economy. The federal government has no need for those punishing and harmful tax dollars. There are several ways to reduce taxes, and we should evaluate and choose the most progressive approaches.
Cutting FICA and business taxes would be a good early step, as both dramatically affect the 99%. Annual increases in the standard income tax deduction, and a reverse income tax also would provide benefits from the bottom up. Both would narrow the Gap.
8. TAX THE VERY RICH (THE “.1%) MORE, WITH HIGHER PROGRESSIVE TAX RATES ON ALL FORMS OF INCOME. (TROPHIC CASCADE)
There was a time when I argued against increasing anyone’s federal taxes. After all, the federal government has no need for tax dollars, and all taxes reduce Gross Domestic Product, thereby negatively affecting the entire economy, including the 99.9%.
But I have come to realize that narrowing the Gap requires trimming the top. It simply would not be possible to provide the 99.9% with enough benefits to narrow the Gap in any meaningful way. Bill Gates reportedly owns $70 billion. To get to that level, he must have been earning $10 billion a year. Pick any acceptable Gap (1000 to 1?), and the lowest paid American would have to receive $10 million a year. Unreasonable.
9. FEDERAL OWNERSHIP OF ALL BANKS (Click The end of private banking and How should America decide “who-gets-money”?)
Banks have created all the dollars that exist. Even dollars created at the direction of the federal government, actually come into being when banks increase the numbers in checking accounts. This gives the banks enormous financial power, and as we all know, power corrupts — especially when multiplied by a profit motive.
Although the federal government also is powerful and corrupted, it does not suffer from a profit motive, the world’s most corrupting influence.
10. INCREASE FEDERAL SPENDING ON THE MYRIAD INITIATIVES THAT BENEFIT AMERICA’S 99.9% (Federal agencies)Browse the agencies. See how many agencies benefit the lower- and middle-income/wealth/ power groups, by adding dollars to the economy and/or by actions more beneficial to the 99.9% than to the .1%.
Save this reference as your primer to current economics. Sadly, much of the material is not being taught in American schools, which is all the more reason for you to use it.

The Ten Steps will grow the economy, and narrow the income/wealth/power Gap between the rich and you.

MONETARY SOVEREIGNTY

What kind of President will Donald Trump be?

Strangely, it can be difficult to determine in advance, what any person will do or become, after first sitting in the Oval Office.

I say, “strangely,” because prior to becoming President or Vice-President, the man or woman receives rather intense vetting by the media, the public, and by the opposition.

Yet, after the election the real person emerges. The pretense ends and under stress of the Presidency, the true essence and fundamental characteristics take over.

Had we known him better, we could have predicted that Harry Truman would become a strong-willed, well-respected President.

Had we known that Dwight Eisenhower reached his power by being a sycophant to those above him, we could have predicted that the “powerful leader” of the combined, allied forces, would prove to be a rather vanilla President.

And given John Kennedy’s family and its moral weaknesses, we might have seen that the great orator would accomplish little, especially when compared to his successor, Lyndon Johnson, perhaps the most productive President since Roosevelt.

And we could have predicted that Johnson’s ego ultimately would destroy his legacy with the ill-conceived Vietnam war.

Richard Nixon surely was predictable. He always was “Tricky Dick.”

Gerald Ford was a sturdy, honest, plain man, who ran a sturdy, honest, plain administration. His essence was there for all to see.

Jimmy Carter, perhaps the weakest President since WWII, was a surprise and disappointment only to those who didn’t know his character, while movie actor, Ronald Reagan, even with his faults, was a pleasant surprise to us if we didn’t know his basic character.

It was in the character of George H. W. Bush to be more effective and wiser than some people anticipated, and “silver-tongue” Bill Clinton was predictably worse than advertised.

But for each, their fundamental character showed through. Situations change, but basic character doesn’t.

George W. Bush was a blithering idiot, and that came as no surprise, but we also should have understood what a liar this draft dodger, he-man pretender was.

Barack Obama was a great liberal hope, though even a cursory examination of his Chicago machine background would have indicated he was a weak-kneed compromiser, more conservative than liberal, willing to do anything for agreement.

He did what his Chicago bosses told him to do, then as President, he did what the wealthy bank executives told him to do. Without someone rich telling him what to do, he was lost.

So, to greater or lesser degree, they all changed, but expectedly, if only we had understood their basic character.

Within each man there was a fundamental — an unchanging essence — that had we understood, we could have foreseen what they were to became.

Which brings us to Donald Trump. What kind of President will he be? What is his essence? What is his basic character?

No mystery.

Because he so often speaks unscripted, we are able to discern the real Donald Trump. He has told us, in so many ways, exactly what he will be.

First, whom has Trump singled out as the one person he admires? He makes no secret of it: Vladimir Putin, the dictator of Russia.

Trump admires Putin’s strength and Putin’s “80% approval rating.” (Remember how Trump loved to talk about his own polling numbers.) Trump considers himself to be a strong man, or rather a strongman, just like Putin.

In true dictatorial style, Trump wishes to build an “iron curtain,” a “beautiful” Berlin wall, around America. Presumably, it would function the same way as the various “walls” Kim Jong Un and his father have built around North Korea.

Dictators love walls, the antithesis of America. Every dictatorship builds strong walls, some to keep people out, some to keep people in, some to do both.

Like dictators Stalin and Hitler, Trump wishes to rid his nation of those he considers undesirable — Muslims, Mexicans, other Latinos, gays.

Like all dictators, Trump is enamored with himself. He plasters his name on everything — buildings, airplanes, businesses. He tries hard to create a “cult of his personality” as did Stalin, Mao, and the Perons.

The Trump Foundation even paid $20,000 of charity money, for a portrait of Trump. (This is charity?) Go to any country ruled by a dictator, and you will see pictures of “The Great Leader” everywhere you go.

Like all dictators, Trump is a thin-skinned egomaniac. Say anything negative about Trump, and you will be subject to a flurry of insulting, even threatening Emails. As President, he will do more than threaten.

Similarly, say something complimentary, and he will reciprocate. He already has said that because Putin speaks well of him, he speaks well of Putin.

Imagine how that would affect international relations. A few kind words could get Trump to agree to anything.

Like most dictators, Trump’s primary appeal is to the less educated, the people who are more susceptible to lies, bluster, and fraud — the people who are more likely to find appeal in bigotry.

And like all dictators, Trump wishes to control the media. He has vowed to widen libel laws, to make suing the media easier. Melania Trump has threatened to sue The Daily Mail, Politico and at least eight other news outlets for defamation.

Trump has barred some media from his speeches, while insulted some media people because they asked questions he didn’t want asked — a dictator’s usual approach to the media.

In any dictatorship, the first freedom to disappear is freedom of the press. Why? Because once the media are under control, the people know only what the dictator wants them to know.

This is why Putin has that “80% approval rating” Trump admires. Kim Jong Un probably has 100% approval.

Imagine what Trump would do without the media asking him embarrassing questions, like why has he not released his promised tax returns (for which he has given at least eight excuses:)
1) He’s being audited
2) As soon as Hillary releases her Emails
3) There are 12,000 pages
4) His financial disclosures more than make up for lack of releasing tax returns
5) The American people don’t care about his tax returns
6) It’s none of your business
7) “I released the most extensive financial review of anybody in the history of politics.”
8) “It would raise too many questions.”

Too many questions?

No dictator would give out his personal, crooked, financial information. Trump follows that lead.

Also, dictators love to demonstrate physical invincibility. No dictator ever gets sick. All are in absolutely perfect health. Putin, for instance, removes his shirt while riding horseback, to demonstrate his virility.

And then there was Mao:

Mao swims in the Yangze

On July 16th, 1966, amidst persistent rumors that he was ill or suffered a heart attack, Mao staged a media event to indicate that he was still vigorous and capable of leading China. It was a swim in the Yangtze River at Wuhan.

The Chinese press spared no adjectives in its account of Mao’s dip; the report said. Mao contested energetically with waves stirred up by 20-mph winds. His cheeks were “glowing” and “ruddy”. Mao “swam with steady strokes”, “cleaved through the waves” and “floated to view the azure sky above.” “Our respected and beloved leader Chairman Mao is in such wonderful health” and “this is the greatest happiness for … revolutionary people throughout the world.”

The international media was more skeptical. Time reported that Mao swam “nearly 15 km in 65 minutes that day–a world-record pace, if true.”

Like dictators Mao and Putin, Trump is in “perfect health.” In fact, he would be “the healthiest individual ever to the presidency.”

We know this, because his doctor, Harold Bornstein (who falsely claims to be a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology) jotted a quick note while sitting in a limousine, telling us so.

Now, after pressure from the media, the very same doctor, who admitted he was influenced to write what Trump wanted, — this doctor the public now is expected to believe — has come up with more data to “prove” that a clearly overweight Trump still is the “healthiest individual” ever.

Bottom line: Donald Trump has told us again and again, in many different ways, that he admires dictators and will be a dictator if we elect him.

Should we fail to listen with our own ears and fail to see with our own eyes, what Trump has made obvious, we and our children will join in the misery seen by the people of Russia, China, Argentina, Germany, Italy, Cuba, and other dictatorships.

Yes, friends, it can happen here.

And we will have only ourselves to blame.

*Does the economy benefit when the rich afford better health care than the rest of Americans?
*Aside from improved health care, what are the other economic effects of “Medicare for everyone?”
*How much would it cost taxpayers?
*Who opposes it?”
3. PROVIDE AN ANNUAL ECONOMIC BONUS TO EVERY MAN, WOMAN AND CHILD IN AMERICA, AND/OR EVERY STATE, A PER CAPITA ECONOMIC BONUS (The JG (Jobs Guarantee) vs the GI (Guaranteed Income) vs the EB) Or institute a reverse income tax.
This article is the fifth in a series about direct financial assistance to Americans:

Economic growth should include the “bottom” 99.9%, not just the .1%, the only question being, how best to accomplish that. Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) favors giving everyone a job. Monetary Sovereignty (MS) favors giving everyone money. The five articles describe the pros and cons of each approach.
4. FREE EDUCATION (INCLUDING POST-GRAD) FOR EVERYONEFive reasons why we should eliminate school loans
An educated populace benefits a nation, and benefiting the nation is the purpose of the federal government, which has the unlimited ability to pay for K-16 and beyond.
6. ELIMINATE CORPORATE TAXES
Corporations themselves exist only as legalities. They don’t pay taxes or pay for anything else. They are dollar-tranferring machines. They transfer dollars from customers to employees, suppliers, shareholders and the government (the later having no use for those dollars).
Any tax on corporations reduces the amount going to employees, suppliers and shareholders, which diminishes the economy. Ultimately, all corporate taxes come around and reappear as deductions from your personal income.
Cutting FICA and corporate taxes would be an good early step, as both dramatically affect the 99%.

As the federal deficit growth lines drop, we approach recession, which will be cured only when the growth lines rise. Increasing
