Trump is desperate to get out of the stupid war he started.
Trump seeks an exit from his Iran war as Mideast violence spreads
Story by The Associated Press
Iran is rejecting comments by President Donald Trump that since Iran is seeking compensation as part of any peace talks, he’ll demand the same.
He was thinking of sending manly Pete Hegseth over there to punch those mullahs in the nose. That might terrify them. But if that doesn’t work, Trump has something even better
It was part of a larger pivot by Trump, who’s arguing that Iran is on the cusp of financially collapsing, even though the decades of financial sanctions it faces aren’t an immediate conflict-ender.
Trump has a solution.
I’ll just tell the mullahs I have HEEL SPURS. That little lie got me out last time.
Hunter Biden Says His Father’s Cancer Has Gotten Worse
On Friday, in an emotional interview with the BBC, Hunter Biden gave a painful update on his father. Former President Joe Biden was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer last year, and his son says it has gotten worse.
When Biden’s diagnosis was first announced, this is what Donald Trump chose to say about a decent man fighting cancer:
“I mean, look, he’s been a sort of a moderate person over his lifetime. Not a smart person, but somewhat vicious person, I will say. If you feel sorry for him, don’t feel so sorry, because he’s vicious. What he did with his political opponent and all of the people that he hurt, he hurt a lot of people, Biden. And so, I really don’t feel sorry for him”
Whatever you think of Joe Biden’s politics, this is a moment for basic human compassion. A family is watching a father and a grandfather suffer. Your politics shouldn’t affect how you feel that news. And Biden himself is a good man, who peacefully transferred power to a president that belittled him and insulted his sons and family countless times during the 2024 election cycle.
I know we don’t expect much from this guy. But for all the young folks watching, when anyone’s father is dying of cancer, there is exactly one decent thing to say. “I’m praying for him and his family.” That’s it.
Guess what Biden said after the assassination attempt on Trump in Pennsylvania?
“I’m grateful to hear he’s safe and doing well. I’m praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally as we await further information. Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety. There is no place for this kind of violence in America.”
It’s a sign of how much Trump has corrupted our politics that just hearing gracious words from a President feels almost foreign. Trump couldn’t manage a statement like that if he tried, because cruelty is his whole brand.
We all have to be better than that, and remember that electing somebody with kindness and human compassion is important too. This is about basic human decency, and it’s part of the job.
Basic human decency; kindness; compassion; these are alien words to the oh-so-religious patriots of the right wing, who proudly broadcast their deep love for Jesus (on Sunday mornings), and the rest of the time, proudly support abject cruelty that would be abhorrent to Jesus.
Oh, how they strut and laugh at the hardships being thrust upon men, women and children who hurt no one, and whose basic crime was to try to work for a better life.
The religious patriots justify and defend their cruelty because, after all, immigrants don’t have documentation, and they are poor, and probably not white — so piling them into fetid concentration camps, separating them from their children, then sending them impoverished to strange lands is what patriotic Americans do, isn’t it?
Hey, that Alligator Alcatraz — what a hilarious hoot that was, right?
Let us pray that these religious patriots similarly will be deported from heaven in the very unlikely event they manage to sneak in.
Following his great achievements with the Reflecting Pool, the Ballroom, and the Triumphal Arch, Trump has continued to succeed internationally.
Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected Donald Trump’s 15-point plan for peace in Gaza.
The Israeli prime minister said his country’s troops will not withdraw from the region until Hamas has “genuinely” disarmed. His comments are a major blow for Trump’s hopes of ending the conflict.
The US president’s Board of Peace announced last month it had reached an agreement for the “complete disarmament” of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza.
But Hamas said that was contingent on Israel ending “all forms of aggression” and withdrawing its forces from Gaza. Speaking on Sunday, Netanyahu said: “Israel rejects the 15-point document.” “The Israel Defense Forces will not carry out any withdrawal until the dismantling of Hamas and its weapons,” he said.
“And when I say dismantling Hamas and its weapons, that means heavy weaponry, less heavy weaponry and smaller arms. All weaponry. “We’re talking about a true dismantling and not a fictitious dismantling.”
MAGAs expected Loser Trump’s “Board of Peace” to accomplish the great things he promised. They never knew Trump to make promises he wouldn’t keep.

President Donald Trump may be willing to end the Iran war without a nuclear deal.
The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday that the president floated declaring victory in the war if Iran reopened the Strait of Hormuz without a deal on the country’s nuclear program.
But that seems increasingly unlikely with Iran now demanding that U.S. soldiers leave the area, an end to the American blockade, and billions of dollars in payment.
Seems like only yesterday that Loser Trump claimed victory. Could it be that real victory requires actual success and not just empty claims for the MAGAs to believe?

Scientists detect a sharp acceleration in global warming
Global warming appears to have shifted into a faster gear. After removing the effects of El Niño, volcanic eruptions, and solar cycles, researchers found that the planet has warmed at roughly 0.35°C per decade over the past ten years, compared with just under 0.2°C per decade from 1970 to 2015.
The acceleration, which becomes visible around 2013 to 2015, appeared across five major global temperature datasets with more than 98% statistical certainty.
North America and Europe are experiencing severe wildfires and deadly heat waves, with oceans reaching the hottest sea surface temperatures ever recorded for this time of year.
Driven by global warming and a strengthening El Niño, 2026—currently the third-warmest year on record—has a growing chance of eclipsing 2024 as the hottest year ever recorded.
While climate scientists debate whether 2026 will officially break the all-time record, experts broadly agree that 2027 is almost guaranteed to set a new global heat record.
LOS ANGELES – Wildfires are raging across North America and Europe, deadly heat waves have blanketed major cities, and global ocean temperatures have climbed to their highest levels ever recorded for this time of year.
As the world burns, Loser Trump had America withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement, end the federal “electric vehicle mandate” and roll back EV-related policies. His mantra is, “drill, baby, drill.”
There is scientific consensus that the Earth has been consistently warming since the start of the Industrial Revolution, that the rate of recent warming is largely unprecedented and that this warming is mainly the result of a rapid increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO 2) caused by human activities.
It has long been clear to anyone with a brain — a category that excludes Donald Trump and his Republican followers — that the Iranians have been stringing this loser along. Read these excerpts from the Guardian.
Iran issues tough demands to reopen Strait of Hormuz as deal still out of reach
Tehran urges US to ‘correct its behaviour’. Sat 8 Aug 2026 17.01 EDT
Iran has issued tough new demands for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, as a deal to open the strategic waterway remained out of reach on Saturday.
Iran’s said the Strait of Hormuz will not open until the United States “corrects its behaviour”.
Here are their demands, to which we must agree, thanks to Trump.
The US must never threaten Iran again
End the war with Iran and its armed allies in the region.
The US must lift the naval blockade of Iranian ports
Withdraw its military from the area.
It also must “completely compensate” Iran for war damage,
Lift sanctions
Unconditionally release frozen assets.
This humiliation is what Donald Trump will claim is a “victory.” Thank you, Donald. Thank you, MAGAs.
The Iranian foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, said on Saturday that they were close to reaching an agreement on navigation. But the waterway’s reopening is contingent on other conditions, he said, and blamed the situation on what he called the US violation of the interim deal.
It’s not just Iran. No one in the world trusts a deal with the United States under Trump, because he repeatedly feels free to break any deal he makes.
Unfortunately, this reflects on you and me, as our America may have become the world’s least trusted nation.
Think about it MAGAS; would you trust any deal you made with Donald Trump?
Iran has imposed an effective blockade of the strait and wants to charge users for passage. The US opposes any Iranian tolls in the strait. The 60-day period to negotiate a final deal will end in just over a week but could be extended.
Iran has said it was close to reaching a separate deal with Oman to manage the strait. Iran’s president Masoud Pezeshkian said he believed now was the best time for an agreement. “There is cohesion, strength, and unity in the country, and as far as I know, Iran is considered victorious and powerful in this war.”
Of course, they won. When Trump fired his most experienced military leaders and declared, “I know more than the generals,” and then hired a clueless TV commentator from Fox News to lead the military, he assured we would lose.
The military people Trump fired spent years at West Point learning strategy, tactics, weaponry, logistics, combat history and manpower usage — and many more years in active service, climbing the ranks, and learning, learning, learning — but then Trump hires a boob who has zero experience and who thinks firing knowledgeable, experienced women and gays is the way to build an army — that and doing muscle-building exercises that he himself embarrassingly was unable to do.
And let us not forget the abject cowardice of the completely useless Republicans in Congress (why are they even there?), compounded by the lies and criminality of such as Clarence (my wife loves Trump) Thomas, Samuel (mine, too) Alito, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh.
They have managed to turn the once most respected branch of government and the most powerful nation in the world into a larger version of a jungle dictatorship.
So now, America watches helplessly as China assumes world leadership, while cowards, clowns and criminals build monuments to Trump and name streets and airports after him.
Continued attacks in the strait, which was free to sail through before the war, led to the collapse of an April ceasefire.
Yes, it’s hard to remember, but we actually had a working deal with Iran.
Known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA, the deal followed two years of negotiations. Then-President Barack Obama, who campaigned on resolving the Iranian nuclear threat, called the issue the “most consequential foreign policy debate that our country has had since the invasion of Iraq.”
That agreement took several years to negotiate with the input from nuclear experts. Even though independent inspections confirmed that Iran stuck to its side of the agreement in the following years, Trump described it as a “terrible deal”, but did not give specific details about what he disliked about it.
Two years after the deal went into effect, President Donald Trump withdrew the U.S. from the nuclear accord, in one of the most significant foreign policy actions during his first term as president.
Why did he do it? One reason only: It was negotiated by President Barack Obama, and Trump was determined to erase everything related to Obama and replace it with numerous things named “Trump.”
He campaigned for years to get rid of Obamacare, constantly promising a “better” program, but as usual with his promises, he never delivered. Today, the middle classes and the poor have worse health care than ever.
Well, he accomplished that. Now we have:
the Trump Iranian War loss,
the Trump Inflation,
the Trump Deportation of good, honest, valuable families and workers,
the Trump tariffs,
the Trump murders of Americans by ICE,
the Trump Election denials,
the Trump decimation of federal services.
the Trump hiring of incompetent fools.
the Trump anti-abortion tragedy.
the Trump anti-gay bigotry.
the Trump anti-birthright (why?)
the Trump anti-woman (except those he plans to attack)
the Trump anti-immigrant
the Trump, anti-vaccination
the Trump anti-science
the Trump anti-education
the Trump anti-poor
the Trump anti-Head Start
the Trump non-Christian bigotry
the Trump gerrymandering
the Trump tax cuts for the rich
the Trump nepotism and insider dealing
the Trump felony convictions
the Trump impeachments
the Trump measles contagion
the Trump overpriced, no-bid reflecting pool, ballroom and triumphal arch (perhaps to commemorate the Iran war).
And many more. Yes, Trump and “Trumpism” will long live in infamy, as will the entire Republican Party, including the Supreme Court, that enabled him.
The strait, which is crucial to global supplies of oil and natural gas, had been considered an international waterway before the war.
While Iranian officials since the 1979 Islamic revolution have never trusted the US, that animus is now also directed personally towards Trump. He not only tore up the painfully negotiated nuclear deal in 2018, but he sanctioned the assassination of the military leader Qassem Suleimani and twice involved Iran in negotiations on its nuclear program only to launch wars against it.
Just as Trump cannot resolve from one sentence to the next what he thinks of Iran, nor can Iran agree what it thinks it can get from America.
Now, Trump has squandered whatever leverage we had over Iran. They have proved they have nothing to fear from America. We pummeled them with everything we had, and they are still standing, and able to make demands on us. We have run short of ammunition.
Trump’s approval rating has shrunk to 36%, which I find amazing. How could 36% of Americans still approve of him as President or even as a person? Are there that many people stunted with MAGA brains??
That is the real question Americans must answer now, so that it never happens again.
Rodger Malcolm Mitchell
PS: What if we were to agree to turn Trump over to the Iranians, to do what they want with him. Would they allow us to use the Strait, again? Just a thought.
