Sorry, I simply couldn’t resist

If you wonder how intelligent people could vote for, and even give their money to, candidates like Trump, Carson, Cruz, Rubio et al, wonder no more.

You have not yet witnessed the depths of religious right wing ignorance.

Here is word-for-word, with nothing added or omitted, an Email I just received from a group called “From the Right”:

“I can’t believe I never heard about this before.

“Since 1996 there have been hundreds of reports about Hillary’s secret mistress… Her name is Huma Abadin, and she grew up in a strict Muslim household in Saudi Arabia…

“And at the tender age of 24, Hillary Clinton made Huma one of her closest “personal” advisors.

“Think about what this means… If Hillary gains the Whitehouse in 2016….

“You can be CERTAIN that the left’s war against Christianity will only grow more severe. Hillary and her Muslim allies will continue trying to CENSOR the Scripture

Yep, having a friend who is Muslim is proof that Hillary Clinton, a Christian, not only is conducting a war against Christianity, but also will try to CENSOR the bible.”

(Censor the bible?? How will she censor the bible?) Oh, but you ain’t seen nuthin’ yet:

“Just like they did recently when news came out about this newly uncovered bible verse…”

A newly uncovered bible verse??

“. . . where Jesus reveals an incredibly effective way to naturally combat almost any disease.

“In fact: liberal politicians DESPISE Biblical discoveries like the one I just mentioned… Especially since this one specific bible passage has now helped more than 20,000 Christians to heal their diabetes and fight away their cancer.

“For people like Hillary and her Muslim lovers that’s UNACCEPTABLE. They want you to beg big government and big medicine for help when you’re sick…

“Not be able to just read a few Bible Verses and heal yourself in a matter of days (Click here to read the verses on healing disease now). We better seriously pray that a true, God loving conservative gets elected president this November…

“Because if it’s Hillary and her harem of “kept” women… Christianity as we know it will be in danger of going extinct.

“God Bless,

“Ian Walker
“D.C. Christian Coalition

“P.S. I actually found a website that shares the censored Bible Passages I mentioned in this message.

“You can visit that site by clicking here.

“Inside, you’ll see how to naturally combat diabetes, cancer, Alzheimer’s, and many other major diseases… And all it takes is following some basic steps that were outlined by our Lord Jesus inside the Scripture.

“You better hurry though, because I have no doubt that the website will get removed FAST.”

O.K., after 2,000 years of intensive study, they have “newly uncovered” bible passages that had been “censored” by someone, and if you read them your “diabetes, cancer, Alzheimer’s and many other major diseases” will be cured “in a matter of days.”

(Hmmm . . . Alzheimer’s was discovered a little over 100 years ago. When were these “newly discovered” bible passages written?)

Oh, and Hillary Clinton keeps a harem (hidden in her apartment, perhaps?) And Christianity, all 2.2 billion strong, will disappear if Hillary is elected.

Understand?

Clearly, the author of this Email believes his audience is stupid. Why?

Anyway, now you know how it came to pass that Trump, Cruz and Rubio are leading the Republican party.

Many years ago, I often voted Republican, but that was before the Tea Party crazies and the uber religious nuts invaded, and ended right-wing reason, science and compassion.

Sorry, I simply could not resist showing this to you.

Ten Steps to Prosperity:
1. Eliminate FICA (Click here)
2. Federally funded Medicare — parts A, B & D plus long term nursing care — for everyone (Click here)
3. Provide an Economic Bonus to every man, woman and child in America, and/or every state a per capita Economic Bonus. (Click here) Or institute a reverse income tax.
4. Free education (including post-grad) for everyone. Click here
5. Salary for attending school (Click here)
6. Eliminate corporate taxes (Click here)
7. Increase the standard income tax deduction annually Click here
8. Tax the very rich (.1%) more, with higher, progressive tax rates on all forms of income. (Click here)
9. Federal ownership of all banks (Click here and here)

10. Increase federal spending on the myriad initiatives that benefit America’s 99% (Click here)

The Ten Steps will grow the economy, and narrow the income/wealth/power Gap between the rich and you.
========================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================

10 Steps to Economic Misery: (Click here:)
1. Maintain or increase the FICA tax..
2. Spread the myth Social Security, Medicare and the U.S. government are insolvent.
3. Cut federal employment in the military, post office, other federal agencies.
4. Broaden the income tax base so more lower income people will pay.
5. Cut financial assistance to the states.
6. Spread the myth federal taxes pay for federal spending.
7. Allow banks to trade for their own accounts; save them when their investments go sour.
8. Never prosecute any banker for criminal activity.
9. Nominate arch conservatives to the Supreme Court.
10. Reduce the federal deficit and debt

No nation can tax itself into prosperity, nor grow without money growth. Monetary Sovereignty: Cutting federal deficits to grow the economy is like applying leeches to cure anemia.
1. A growing economy requires a growing supply of dollars (GDP=Federal Spending + Non-federal Spending + Net Exports)
2. All deficit spending grows the supply of dollars
3. The limit to federal deficit spending is an inflation that cannot be cured with interest rate control.
4. The limit to non-federal deficit spending is the ability to borrow.

THE RECESSION CLOCK

Recessions begin an average of 2 years after the blue line first dips below zero. A common phenomenon is for the line briefly to dip below zero, then rise above zero, before falling dramatically below zero. There was a brief dip below zero in 2015, followed by another dip – the familiar pre-recession pattern.
Recessions are cured by a rising red line.

Monetary Sovereignty

Vertical gray bars mark recessions.

As the federal deficit growth lines drop, we approach recession, which will be cured only when the growth lines rise. Increasing federal deficit growth (aka “stimulus”) is necessary for long-term economic growth.

Mitchell’s laws:
•Those, who do not understand the differences between Monetary Sovereignty and monetary non-sovereignty, do not understand economics.
•Any monetarily NON-sovereign government — be it city, county, state or nation — that runs an ongoing trade deficit, eventually will run out of money.
•The more federal budgets are cut and taxes increased, the weaker an economy becomes..

Liberals think the purpose of government is to protect the poor and powerless from the rich and powerful. Conservatives think the purpose of government is to protect the rich and powerful from the poor and powerless.

•The single most important problem in economics is the Gap between rich and the rest..
•Austerity is the government’s method for widening
the Gap between rich and poor.
•Until the 99% understand the need for federal deficits, the upper 1% will rule.
•Everything in economics devolves to motive, and the motive is the Gap between the rich and the rest..

  1. Trump grabbing white, born-again Christian voters

Trump has won the support of one-third of self-identified born-again Christians across the dozen or so states that have held GOP contests and where exit polls were conducted.

Trump is a Presbyterian who has said he has never sought God’s forgiveness for his sins, botches Bible references and, on a recent campaign visit to a church, mistook a communion plate for a donation plate . . . a twice-divorced, profane casino magnate with a muddled record on abortion and gay marriage.

EXCELLENT ARTICLE THAT PREDICTED THE CURRENT REPUBLICAN PARTY

In the United States, where little happens that one side or the other does not ascribe to an overseeing God, secular rationalizations were complemented with the notion of divine will.

God wanted unregulated economic freedom and minimalist government to prevail.

Any government involvement in social welfare was disapproved of because it allegedly promoted laziness among the poor, but this was just a convenient myth.

The real reason for keeping government activity to an absolute minimum was the rising business class’ fear and loathing of taxes.

Today’s struggle to return us to minimalist government and maximum economic “freedom” is led by a collection of fundamentalist Christian right-wingers and Tea Party mad-hatters.

The real goal of men like (Ted) Cruz is to make the U.S. a Christian fundamentalist nation.

Many radical conservatives have come to see their moderate compatriots as traitors to principle – as politicians who ran scared in the face of Obama’s “socialist” agenda.

Under these circumstances, most of the party’s energies might well be taken up with self-destructive infighting.

Read the entire article for a better appreciation of the insanity that has enveloped the Republican party.

Democratic debate highlights one clear loser
The proximity of the Republican and Democratic debates also created an opportunity to compare not only the candidates against their intra-party rivals, but also each party’s field of candidates against the other.

And on this front, as the Huffington Post’s Jonathan Cohn noted, the GOP has reason to feel embarrassed.

[T]he debate was also deeply substantive – an argument between two seasoned politicians who have obviously given a lot of thought to the problems facing America, and what they would do about them.

The contrast to the Republican debate from last week, with its juvenile insults, could not have been more stark. Instead of discussing penis length, Clinton and Sanders argued over the sizes of their respective infrastructure programs.

In short, both Clinton and Sanders looked ready for prime time.

The point wasn’t lost on Clinton, who declared towards the end of last night’s debate, “I just want to make one point. You know, we have our differences. And we get into vigorous debate about issues, but compare the substance of this debate with what you saw on the Republican stage last week.”

    THE WORLD WATCHES IN DISBELIEF

The GOP in the United States is the only major party in the advanced world that denies climate change, opposes universal health care, and believes citizens should have largely unfettered access to firearms.

And also believes that 1) shutting down the government to get its way, and 2) refusing even to consider a Supreme Court nomination, represents good governing.

    ==========================================================================================================================================================================================================

How the GOP’s Spirit of Strife Has Damaged the Nation

Politics as combat took new form when Barack Obama became president, and the Republicans decided to make it their priority to make him fail. Such a decision was unprecedented in American history–let alone at a time of national crisis, when the economy was teetering on the edge of an abyss, and when therefore the president’s failure could mean suffering for millions of Americans.

Because of the across-the-board obstructionism the Republicans chose, we’ve lately seen the least productive Congresses of our history. Can anyone name an issue that the Republicans have approached in the spirit of “What can we accomplish, despite our differences, that will create a better America?”

And now the spirit of strife has erupted in spectacular fashion in the two biggest political stories of the present moment.
As soon as a vacancy opened on the Supreme Court, the Republicans in the Senate made an unprecedented declaration of non-cooperation. Never before in American history has a Senate refused categorically to consider any nominee they might receive from the president in office when a vacancy opened up on the highest court. “Advise and consent” has been perverted into the all-out strife of “no consent no matter what.”

Meanwhile, in the race for the Republican nomination for president, an apparently unstoppable frontrunner — of a nature likewise unprecedented — has arisen.

Never have we seen a candidate in the presidential arena so eager to pick even unnecessary fights — not only with his presidential rivals, but also with Fox News and Megyn Kelly, Mexicans and Muslims, journalists. With this bellicosity, Donald Trump has captured passions in the Republican base to become the Party’s dominant leader. Trump is a leader suitable for a party that for a generation has taught its followers to see politics as a form of combat.

And so it is that –as the Republican Party has become increasingly possessed by the spirit of conflict — our political system has become dysfunctional, disabled from working toward a better America.

  2. I love it, America is made up of idiots,! But didn’t we already know this. Humans are stupid, petty, selfish, egocentric, tribal, short sighted, fearful, and a host of similar negative attributes, though those afflicted of these pains never really understand that they are suffering from irrational instinctive mind sets. Regrettably they’re often very quick to point their accusing fingers at the few reasonable and logical scapegoats they’re jealous of. This process is culturally spread and repeated down through the generations. Wealth can wall the successful away from the insanity, but eventually the sickness spreads, or the cure becomes as bad as the affliction with respect to innocent bystanders.

As in the middle east where theocracies are common place, if the electorate is uninformed and apathetic to reason, easily manipulated by the powers that be, democracy doesn’t work. How shameful and frightful. I’m afraid we are witnessing that problem today. I think the constitution only protects us so far. A mind boggling question concerns the availability of information. The internet is a library at our finger tips, but this myriad of data is scattered, too difficult for the average hard working specialized and indoctrinated peon to rise above the noise. Too scary, so frustrating.

  3. Today, Bernie Sanders is considered too far out there to be given main stream credibility. Before Reagan, as I recall the era — even Richard Nixon wanted health care — Sanders would have been considered a run of the mill New Deal, or Great Society Democrat.

The Democratic Party has become the new Republican Party.

  4. Rodger, you’re kidding, right? If not, then, you’re the one who’s not very intelligent!

First, you fail to mention the many embedded web links in the subject email (i.e., all of which lead to a snake oil scam for a product called “HL12”). (Did you notice that?) In addition, you offer no proof the email was either published or, otherwise, acted upon by any of right wing fanatics bedeviling you. (Perhaps, you should consider ‘reverse psychology’ here where the email was actually composed by one of your like-minded partisans.)

So, what’s your story? Are you lying by withholding salient facts from your message or are you just passing along an uncorroborated email (i.e., as you claim about the underlying email regarding Mrs. Clinton’s indiscretions) in order to justify belittling persons you obviously loathe?

Rodger, despising those who don’t share your ‘Weltanschauung’ expose you as nothing more than a partisan huckster à la the ‘perp’ behind the original email and the ‘HL12 snake oil’ scam. Congratulations!

Now, Rodger, it’s time for you to gain a bit of humility (and sense of decency) and either learn from your indiscretion here and elsewhere in your political rants or, otherwise, voluntary relegate yourself to the trash heap that is political hatred!

    1. I actually received the Email. It contains ads, to which I paid no attention. (So?)

The return address indicated it was sent by http://fromtheright.com/. If you have evidence to the contrary, please provide it.

If you go to that site, you will see similar nonsense to what http://fromtheright.com/ contains.

You suggest it was sent by my “partisans,”(whoever they are) though you have zero evidence of any kind.

Your Emailing silly claims based on zero evidence, makes my point.

      Thank you.
