If you lie often enough . . .

If you repeat a word often enough, it will lose its meaning. The same with lies.

There was a time when being caught in a lie was death for a politician. No more. What happens now when he is caught in a lie? 100 lies? 1,000 lies? 10,000 lies?

Sheer volume numbs. The senses numb. The world numbs. Does it matter any more? Do his followers care? Does anyone care? Anymore?

They all are liars. Believe me.

It all blends into an endless stream of jumbled lies indistinguishable from truths, too many to investigate, too many to refute, so you don’t even bother, because no will listen.

As his lies wash over you your energy leaves. You have no strength. It has become too much. And the lies have become the liar and the liar has become the lies, one and the same.

So encouraged, he lies more and ever more, succeeds more and ever more. Soon the endless drip of his lies erodes through even the hardest stone, and your great sheltering nation that was welcoming and compassionate and beautiful simply turns to dust.

Then, like smoke through his fingers, you, your children, and his lies quietly blow away.

  1. Roger, Here’s one truth that some economists may like to think is a lie; it’s called monetery sovereignty. I caught it being discussed on Morning Joe a week or so ago which I already mentioned here.

Now it was discussed on FOX’s money segment at 1:00pm today. The discussion was wrapped around action the FED is taking now with monetizing the debt. They also used the initials MMT as well as stating the use of “monetery sovereignty” as a tool.

So that’s twice now I caught a twinkle in the night. Think it’s starting to come around?

  2. You sound like a child. Do you really believe that political lying was invented by Donald Trump? Or that Obama, Bush, Clinton, etc., didn’t also lie with impunity? Based on your comments on Venezuela and Israel, you get your information from mainstream media conglomerates, you base your arguments on ‘lies’. I think it’s great that you speak truth about modern money, and once upon a time, I learned, but outside of modern money, you are as ignorant as the majority of this unexceptional country. Cheers

    1. Thank you for your comments, which are as factual as Trump’s tweets. You apparently believe that if other Presidents, or anyone else, has told any lies, then it is just fine for Trump to lie to you endlessly.

Perhaps his surrounding himself with indicted and convicted criminals doesn’t bother you, either? Just as a reminder of what you may have forgotten, have you ever seen such a rogues gallery as this?

      PAUL MANAFORT
He ran Trump’s campaign for part of 2016 and was convicted in August on five counts of tax fraud, one count of failure to file a report of foreign bank and financial accounts and two counts of bank fraud.

      RICK GATES
Manafort’s former business partner and Trump’s former deputy campaign chair pleaded guilty to conspiracy and lying to Mueller’s investigators about his business dealings with Manafort.

      MICHAEL COHEN
Trump’s longtime fixer pleaded guilty to lying to Congress about the duration of Trump’s plan to build a Trump Tower in Moscow.

      MICHAEL FLYNN
A top Trump surrogate and foreign policy adviser during the 2016 campaign who admitted to lying to the FBI about the substance of his conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

      GEORGE PAPADOPOULOS
Trump foreign policy adviser, he pleaded guilty to making false statements to the FBI about the timing of his conversations with a professor who had ties to Russian intelligence.

      ALEX VAN DER ZWAAN
Admitted to lying to Mueller’s investigators about his contacts with Gates.

      RICHARD PINEDO
He was sentenced to six months in federal lockup and six months of home confinement for selling bank account and other stolen identity information to a group of Russians accused of interfering in the election.

13 RUSSIAN NATIONALS and three Russian companies were indicted on conspiracy charges, with some also being accused of identity theft. The charges related to a Russian propaganda effort designed to interfere with the 2016 campaign.

KONSTANTIN KILIMNIK: Longtime business associate of Manafort and Gates was charged alongside Manafort with attempting to obstruct justice by tampering with witnesses in Manafort’s pending case last year.

12 RUSSIAN GRU OFFICERS: These officers of Russia’s military intelligence service were charged with crimes related to the hacking and leaking of leading Democrats’ emails in 2016.

ROGER STONE: Mueller indicted longtime Trump adviser on 7 counts of lying to the House Intelligence Committee about his efforts to get in touch with WikiLeaks during the campaign, and tampering with a witness who could have debunked his story.

SAM PATTEN: Republican operative and lobbyist pleaded guilty to not registering as a foreign agent with his work for Ukrainian political bigwigs, and agreed to cooperate with the government.

And this doesn’t even count the incompetents he has appointed to lead agencies.

Birds of a feather, birds of a feather.
