Are you fucking stupid?

A question for Republican politicians and those who vote for them:

Let me get this straight:

  1. COVID kills thousands every day
  2. More deadly strains are popping up
  3. COVID can be prevented with vaccinations
  4. But you don’t want the government to mandate life-saving vaccinations

Is that about right?
Are you fucking stupid?

  1. IF YOU COULD BE BOTHERED TO DO SOME BLOODY RESEARCH ON THE ISSUE YOU MIGHT FIND OUT! THAT IS IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY DEVELOPED Myocarditis OR BLOOD CLOTS IN THE BRAIN. COVID IS NOT DEADLY, IT IS  NOT EBOLA

  2. Republicans: Let People Die of COVID or So Help Us We’ll Shut Down the Government

It’s hard to say what’s more idiotic: The possibility the GOP could shut down the federal government, or the reason they’re threatening to do so.

Lawmakers are facing a Friday deadline to fund the government, with Democrats and Republicans currently at loggerheads over how long to kick the can down the road. Democrats want to pass a continuing resolution, or short-term spending bill, that would push off a debate over funding until next year.

But a group of Senate Republicans, with support from their House colleagues, are preparing to complicate things further. According to Politico, a cadre of conservatives are threatening to shut down the government to keep Joe Biden’s COVID vaccination requirements on businesses from taking effect.

Capitol Hill Republicans are now looking to leverage a potential government shutdown to derail Biden’s mandate altogether.

“There is leverage immediately in the Senate,” Republican Congressman Chip Roy told Politico, “and we think that House Republicans ought to be backing up any number of Senate Republicans…to use all procedural tools to deny the continuing resolution passage Friday night—unless they restrict use of those funds for vaccine mandates.”

  3. Have you seen the news clip about the kid who was being interrogated by the cops about his involvement in the 1/6 rebellion? He broke down sobbing saying he thought he was only following the directions of the president. There are “eyes shut” true believers, and go-along-to-get-along believers who don’t really believe,

    1. I didn’t see the clip, but since Dumb Trumpers are the least intelligent, most gullible, dimwits on the planet, I’m never surprised at anything they say, do, or believe. Hey, they want to shut down the government to prevent life-saving vaccination, so what else can you say about them?

      1. The Life of Samuel Johnson (1791) by James Boswell. The following page numbers are taken from the Great Books edition (see Sources), which is fairly easy to find in U.S. public libraries.

Volume II: A decent provision for the poor is the true test of civilization. 1770, p. 182 & Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel. April 7, 1775, p. 253 Boswell’s full mention of this statement reads:Patriotism having become one of our topicks, Johnson suddenly uttered, in a strong determined tone, an apophthegm, at which many will start: “Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel.” But let it be considered, that he did not mean a real and generous love of our country, but that pretended patriotism which so many, in all ages and countries, have made a cloak of self-interest.
