Who will speak for the Republican Party?

These are the voices of the Republican Party:

Trump: “He’s not a war hero. He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured.”

————————————————————————————————————————————–

McCain: “The damage inflicted by President Trump’s naiveté, egotism, false equivalence, and sympathy for autocrats is difficult to calculate. But it is clear that the summit in Helsinki was a tragic mistake.

“President Trump proved not only unable, but unwilling to stand up to Putin. He and Putin seemed to be speaking from the same script as the president made a conscious choice to defend a tyrant against the fair questions of a free press, and to grant Putin an uncontested platform to spew propaganda and lies to the world.”

Who will speak for the Republican party, now?

  1. Putin is no saint. but needlessly provoking him is not going to make things better. His totally warmongering stance is the last thing we need right now. As for eulogies, nothing but crocodile tears all round. Trump too is no saint but his aims to get along with Russia are a breath of fresh air in the fetid Democrat and deep state lies that we are supposed to believe. A great threat to America and many others as well if this gets out of hand.

    1. Agreed. Trump is no saint. In fact, he is a traitor who would sell America down the river, if he could get a Trump Tower in Moscow, and prevent the release of his “pee tapes.” By the way, who is the “deep state”?

      1. The Deep State also goes by the name The “blob” It’s the crowd who tells the president he can’t have single payer health care, that he has to destroy Iran, and ramp up the cold war with Moscow. The Deep state is behind the 219 – and counting – wars and interventions in the period from the end of WW2 and today. They are the enemy of the people, and keep themselves out of sight. Apart from all that your guess is as good as mine.

          1. You got that wrong. The deep state opposes Trump whenever he gets a decent idea, like single payer healthcare [ a long held position]. It was the deep state that made Obama so ineffective as POTUS.

          2. The words “decent idea” and “Trump” don’t go together — unless you’re talking about Trump University and the Trump Foundation???

Trump, along with a Republican Senate, a Republican House, and a right-wing Supreme Court never even have approached single payer, let alone passing such a bill. It’s a “decent idea,” except half the time Trump has called it private, and half the time public.

In truth, it’s a vague, but passing idea, for which he has done absolutely nothing.

This wasn’t the “deep state.” This was an incompetent blowhard, feigning interest in people, but having interest only in himself.
