–Rand Paul: Constitutional scholar, morality judge and linguist

Mitchell’s laws:
●Those, who do not understand the differences between Monetary Sovereignty and monetary non-sovereignty, do not understand economics.
●The more federal budgets are cut and taxes increased, the weaker an economy becomes. .
Liberals think the purpose of government is to protect the poor and powerless from the rich and powerful. Conservatives think the purpose of government is to protect the rich and powerful from the poor and powerless.
●Austerity is the government’s method for widening
the gap between rich and poor.
●Until the 99% understand the need for federal deficits, the upper 1% will rule.
To survive long term, a monetarily non-sovereign government must have a positive balance of payments.
●Everything in economics devolves to motive,
and the motive is the Gap.

The right-wing is very much in favor of applying Constitutional law, specifically when it happens to punish the weak and powerless, reward the rich or when it favors guns.

The right-wing also is very much in favor of “getting government off people’s backs.”

Consider, for instance, current right wing darling, Rand Paul, and his opinions about marriage:

Rand Paul: ‘…If You Want to Marry Another Woman That You Can Do That and Have a Contract’

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) told CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday that he believes “what you do in your home is your own business” when asked about his views on gay marriage.

“I do believe people ought to be left alone. I don’t care who you are, what you do at home, or who your friends are, where you hang out, what kind of music you listen to. What you do in your home is your own business.

That’s always been who I am. I am a leave-me-alone kind of guy,” Paul said.

“But not when it comes to marriage?” CNN host Dana Bash asked.

“Well, no, states will end up making the decisions on these things. I think that there’s a religious connotation to marriage. I believe in the “traditional” religious connotation to this.”

You could have both traditional marriage, which I believe in, and you could also have the neutrality of the law that allows people to have contracts with another.”

So let’s get this straight. Sen. Paul does not object to gay people getting married, so long as they don’t dare call it “marriage.”

It should be the identical contract as “traditional” marriage, just don’t use the word “marry.” Use some other words (How about “get hitched” or “plight one’s troth”?)

And the nonsense continues: Rand Paul believes people ought to be left alone — but state governments should make the marriage decision.

You see, to the silly right, the federal government is the evil, dishonest, tyrannical “leviathan,” while state governments are angelic, virtuous, sympathetic cherubs.

For example, in my home state of Illinois, half our governors and many other local politicians are so honest, they are allowed to live free in government residences called “prisons.”

And finally, Sen. Paul thinks marriage laws should be based on religion, though the very first words in the very first Amendment to the Constitution of the United States are: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. . . “

But Senator Paul believes the religious connotation should be obeyed, and I suppose, if the religious connotation is Senator Paul’s belief, then the religious connotation should be the nation’s belief, Constitution or not.

But it will get screwier. Wait until you examine the Constitutional scholar’s budget proposals.

The Ten Steps to Prosperity:

1. Eliminate FICA (Click here)
2. Federally funded Medicare — parts A, B & D plus long term nursing care — for everyone (Click here)
3. Provide an Economic Bonus to every man, woman and child in America, and/or every state a per capita Economic Bonus. (Click here) Or institute a reverse income tax.
4. Federally funded, free education (including post-grad) for everyone. Click here
5. Salary for attending school (Click here)
6. Eliminate corporate taxes (Click here)
7. Increase the standard income tax deduction annually. (Refer to this.)
8. Tax the very rich (.1%) more, with higher, progressive tax rates on all forms of income. (Click here)
9. Federal ownership of all banks (Click here and here)
10. Increase federal spending on the myriad initiatives that benefit America’s 99% (Click here)

Initiating The Ten Steps sequentially will add dollars to the economy, stimulate the economy, and narrow the income/wealth/power Gap between the rich and the rest.
——————————————————————————————————————————————

10 Steps to Economic Misery: (Click here:)
1. Maintain or increase the FICA tax..
2. Spread the myth Social Security, Medicare and the U.S. government are insolvent.
3. Cut federal employment in the military, post office, other federal agencies.
4. Broaden the income tax base so more lower income people will pay.
5. Cut financial assistance to the states.
6. Spread the myth federal taxes pay for federal spending.
7. Allow banks to trade for their own accounts; save them when their investments go sour.
8. Never prosecute any banker for criminal activity.
9. Nominate arch conservatives to the Supreme Court.
10. Reduce the federal deficit and debt

No nation can tax itself into prosperity, nor grow without money growth. Monetary Sovereignty: Cutting federal deficits to grow the economy is like applying leeches to cure anemia.
1. A growing economy requires a growing supply of dollars (GDP=Federal Spending + Non-federal Spending + Net Exports)
2. All deficit spending grows the supply of dollars
3. The limit to federal deficit spending is an inflation that cannot be cured with interest rate control.
4. The limit to non-federal deficit spending is the ability to borrow.

THE RECESSION CLOCK
Monetary Sovereignty

Monetary Sovereignty

Vertical gray bars mark recessions.

As the federal deficit growth lines drop, we approach recession, which will be cured only when the growth lines rise. Increasing federal deficit growth (aka “stimulus”) is necessary for long-term economic growth.

    1. Good article, though by trying to “dumb it down” for the economically uneducated, he does leave a false impression.

He said, “Paul’s proposal might make sense on the surface there’s a very high probability that it would simply weaken the overall economy and result in a HIGHER budget deficit than we presently have.”

Both are true, but he makes it sound as though an increased budget deficit is something to be avoided.

Just as he notes that if the federal government runs a surplus, the other sectors must run a deficit, it also is true that if the federal government runs a deficit, the other sectors will run a surplus — and that is a very good thing, indeed.

So rather than something to be feared or cured, federal deficits are to be encouraged and increased. They are necessary for long-term economic growth.

And that is the real point.

  1. What Paul is referring to here is that the government should not be forcing laws onto the church (just like they shouldnt on the gay), its not about the word marriage.

This whole gay topic wouldnt be an issue had the government not picked sides of marriage couples. IMO remove the advantage, issue no more.

    1. Since you are all for “fairness”, perhaps you should provide a little bit of thought on why it’s ok for same sex people to refuse services to non same sex people. I bet your not as interested in those non communist issues..

As I said, this would be a non topic if non same sex couples did not get any preferential benefits (i.e. taxes). As such, this should not be a federal issue at all, it’s a local issue. If Illinois wants to do it, good for Illinois. If another doesnt, good for them too.

  2. FDR, you caught me. I have to admit, I’m for “fairness.” Are you for “fairness” (quotation marks included)?

I try very hard to be “interested in those non communist issues,” but the Stalin in me keeps drawing me back. I would discuss this further, except for the fact you have no idea what communism is.

Anyway, I don’t like bigots who claim sexual orientation as a victim.

But the thing that puzzles me most, is why bigots feel it is O.K. for states to pass bigoted laws, but not for the federal government to pass bigoted laws. Can you explain?

What about counties? Bigotry O.K. for them?
    Cities? Bigotry O.K. for them?
    Neighborhoods? Bigotry O.K. for them?

Oh, and by the way, you forgot to answer: “What law is being forced onto the church?”

  3. Bigots hate the federal government, because it takes out the regional differences in their picture. Bigots are narrow minded. The more local (LOCO) the more they can hide behind their regionality just like George Wallace back in the day. Bigot = narrow mind = leave us alone to practice our early 20th century stupid traditions just like ma pappy done tol’ me ta do, ya hear.
