Mitchell’s laws:
●The more federal budgets are cut and taxes increased, the weaker an economy becomes.
●Austerity is the government’s method for widening the gap between rich and poor,
which ultimately leads to civil disorder.
●Until the 99% understand the need for federal deficits, the upper 1% will rule.
To survive long term, a monetarily non-sovereign government must have a positive balance of payments.
●Those, who do not understand the differences between Monetary Sovereignty and monetary non-sovereignty, do not understand economics.
●The penalty for ignorance is slavery.
●Everything in economics devolves to motive.

Wise heads in the Republican Party can count. They see the results of the last Presidential election. They realize they have alienated large segments of the voting population — blacks, browns, gays, women, non-Christians, immigrants, young people — just about everyone except older, white males.

Further, under the heading “You’re known by your friends,” having such friends as Glenn Beck, Ben Shapiro, (Editor-at-Large of Breitbart News), Judson Phillips (Tea Party Nation founder) and Rush Limbaugh, is not likely to give the Republicans a new, sane and compassionate image.

Even further, wise Republican heads have come to understand that their selection of crazies and incompetents to be Presidential candidates, made the Party itself look crazy and incompetent. After all, Herman Cain, Michele Bachmann, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, Rick Perry et al, each of whom actually led the right wing polls, are not about to inspire enthusiasm among thoughtful voters.

But, at long last, the Republicans are attempting to shed their mean-spirited, extremist image:

Cruz crushes field in presidential straw poll at Values Voters Summit
By Seth McLaughlin-The Washington Times Saturday, October 12, 2013

Sen. Ted Cruz trounced the competition in the presidential straw poll at the 2013 Values Voters Summit, with Dr. Ben Carson and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum

Ted Cruz? Ben Carson? Rick Santorum? These are the candidates who will soften the right wing, extremist image of the Republican Party?

Oops.

Mr. Cruz was one of a handful of conference speakers — including Sens. Rand Paul of Kentucky and Marco Rubio of Florida

Rand Paul? Marco Rubio?

Oops. Oops.

Rep. Michele Bachmann also addressed the summit and has not ruled out another presidential campaign.

Michele Bachmann?

OOPS!

Dr. Carson, Mr. Cruz and Mrs. Bachmann were the top choices for vice president.

Well that nails it. Clearly, lesson learned.

South Carolina House passes bill making ‘Obamacare’ implementation a crime
By Jessica Chasmar-The Washington Times Thursday, May 2, 2013

The South Carolina state House passed a bill Wednesday that declares President Obama’s Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to be “null and void,” and criminalizes its implementation.

The state’s Freedom of Health Care Protection Act intends to “prohibit certain individuals from enforcing or attempting to enforce such unconstitutional laws; and to establish criminal penalties and civil liability for violating this article.”

Sigh.

Nine Steps to Prosperity:
1. Eliminate FICA (Click here)
2. Medicare — parts A, B & D plus long term nursing care — for everyone (Click here)
3. Send every American citizen an annual check for $5,000 or give every state $5,000 per capita (Click here)
4. Free education (including post-grad) for everyone. Click here
5. Salary for attending school (Click here)
6. Eliminate corporate taxes (Click here)
7. Increase the standard income tax deduction annually
8. Increase federal spending on the myriad initiatives that benefit America’s 99% (Click here)
9. Federal ownership of all banks (Click here)

10 Steps to Economic Misery: (Click here:)
1. Maintain or increase the FICA tax..
2. Spread the myth Social Security, Medicare and the U.S. government are insolvent.
3. Cut federal employment in the military, post office, other federal agencies.
4. Broaden the income tax base so more lower income people will pay.
5. Cut financial assistance to the states.
6. Spread the myth federal taxes pay for federal spending.
7. Allow banks to trade for their own accounts; save them when their investments go sour.
8. Never prosecute any banker for criminal activity.
9. Nominate arch conservatives to the Supreme Court.
10. Reduce the federal deficit and debt

No nation can tax itself into prosperity, nor grow without money growth. Monetary Sovereignty: Cutting federal deficits to grow the economy is like applying leeches to cure anemia.
Two key equations in economics:
1. Federal Deficits – Net Imports = Net Private Savings
2. Gross Domestic Product = Federal Spending + Private Investment and Consumption – Net Imports

THE RECESSION CLOCK
Monetary Sovereignty Monetary Sovereignty

As the federal deficit growth lines drop, we approach recession, which will be cured only when the lines rise.

  1. An unconstitutional law deemed constitutional by the supreme court? Is there something really wrong with this picture? This is an example for the world of a fully functioning representative/presidential form of government? A guiding light for the oppressed peoples of the world? One of the reasons we see ourselves as exceptional? Have many americans have devolved on the evolutionary scale to a point below that at which apes reside? The last question seems an easy inquiry to answer resoundingly in the affirmative to. Is there no point at which these folks feel shame? In a matter of a half century, a mere wink over the course of civilization, this nation has become the most ungovernable, ungoverned populace on the face of this earth. An irresponsible, uncaring mob; except for a relatively few. It appears more and more to me that it’s time to get of dodge. Is america the best place there is?

    1. Constitutional is what the Supreme Court says it is. Remember, for many years, slavery was constitutional.

In any event, so-called “Obamacare” (Romneycare nee Heritagecare) is a terrible law, a truly awful hodge-podge, Rube Goldberg travesty.

Except, on balance, it is somewhat of an improvement over previous law, in that more poor people are helped.

Congress should have passed a “Medicare for All,” law, fully funded by the federal government and containing fully inclusive Parts A, B and D, with no deductibles.

The government can afford what the populace cannot, and here we ignorantly worry about government deficits rather than worrying about the economy’s deficit.

  3. I don’t know whether or not his conclusions are correct, but his assumptions are not: “In essence, the federal government has been financing it own indebtedness through generous handouts to Wall Street and the military industrial complex.”

The federal government “finances” (pays for) its indebtedness (T-securities) merely by transferring dollars from T-security accounts to checking accounts. No new dollars are needed.

The article seems to indicate the federal debt is a burden on the federal government and should be reduced. That is incorrect on both counts.

Clearly, he does not understand Monetary Sovereignty.

    1. Rodger, I recognize that line from Chossudovsky without clicking the link.

He has some GREAT Left Wing books on how global banks in US and Deutsche teamed up to loot various Asian Tigers, Mexico, former Yugoslavia, elsewhere, and how it was all orchestrated including Bankruptcy Plans to shut down govt-subsidized businesses in countries we controlled or conquered.

Quoted the plans, named the players, Yes, he does confuse a non-sovereign currency with a sovereign one.

However, GIVEN the current erroneous paradigm, it certainly SEEMS like the Bailouts and Subsidies were a COST to taxpayers, and led Congress to FORCE reductions elsewhere.

  4. Just when you think the Tea/Republicans simply cannot become more insane, they outdo themselves:

Tea Party protestors wave Confederate flag at White House, tell Obama to “put the Quran down.
At yesterday’s rally led by Senator Ted Cruz, Tea Party activists marched to the White House with Confederate flags.

One speaker from a Tea Party outside group told the crowd to “demand that this president leave town […] put the Quran down, to get up off his knees, and to figuratively come out with his hands up.”

    monetary sovereignty

The only thing missing is the Ku Klux Klan.

  5. Agreed, Kim,

Though I often describe the so-called “religious” right as insane, that’s not the same as “stupid.” Insanity is deliberately injuring your own country — sort of like drilling holes in the bottom of your boat.

Stupidity is doing it because your neighbor convinced you to put him in your will, and then to drill the holes.

I repeatedly and consistently have said that the politicians, especially the “religious” right, have been bribed by the rich to widen the gap between the rich and the rest.

The bottom line for all bigotry is the gap. The South is a bit more frightened about the gap than is the rest of the nation.

I may write a post on that.

    1. Rodger! How’s about a 3rd US political party? What’s your take? I’d say, mucho trouble figuring! Your drift about that?

      You’re amazing, sage man! ……………

      1. A 3rd party generally is favored by one of the two major parties, so tends to draw votes from that party.

That’s the irony. A 3rd party that, for instance, leans slightly left, would assure the election of a right-leaning candidate.
