Many articles have been written about the failings of American schools and our children’s low ranking worldwide. Part of the blame can be attributed to inadequate local funding and excessive university costs:

Like every complex story, outliers and exceptions to the rule exist.
Children learn from their parents, their school teachers and their peers. In total, if the teaching is substandard or incorrect, the students will tend toward ignorance.
Ignorance of Monetary Sovereignty is widespread among university economics professors, who themselves were taught by professors ignorant of Monetary Sovereignty. The ignorance was handed down from teacher to student to fellow student — from generation to generation.
But, economics isn’t the only discipline where fact is ignored. Consider, for instance, biology. Here are excerpts from an article describing how vouchers have led to formalized superstition being taught in our schools.

Private Christian schools are rightly free to teach Christian dogma. Public schools should not. American law separates the religious world from the public world for good reason: Religion never is wrong.
Democracy is a method for debating and evaluating different opinions. In religion, there is no debate. God speaks; we obey. But how do we know what God is saying? The high priests tell us. So the reality: The high priests speak; we obey.
Those who disagree are vilified as sinners for not accepting “God’s (the priests’) word. Thus, does theocracy devolve to totalitarianism, and that is why America separates religion from politics — or tries to.

●The Beverly Institute in Jacksonville, Florida, teaches “Evidence of a Flood,” and “Evidence against Evolution,” and ”The Evolution of Man: A Mistaken Belief.”
● Christian Academy in McDonough, Georgia says,“The universe, a direct creation of God, refutes the man-made idea of evolution. Students will be called upon to see the divine order of creation and its implications on other subject areas.
●Life Christian Academy in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma says their life science class will “lead the student to recognize that God created all living things and that these living things are fearfully and wonderfully made.” Evolution is taught only in history class, where students “evaluate the theory of evolution and its flaws.” The school uses the creationist Bob Jones and CSI curriculums.
●The principal of the Claiborne Christian School, in West Monroe, Louisiana, says in a school newsletter, “Our position at CCS on the age of the Earth and other issues is that any theory that goes against God’s Word is in error.” She also claims that scientists are “sinful men” trying to explain the world “without God” so they don’t have to be “morally accountable to Him.”
●Trinity Academy, in Gary, uses the creationist A Beka curriculum and says it “presents the universe as the direct creation of God and refutes the man-made idea of evolution.”
●Rocky Bayou Christian School, in Niceville, Florida, says in its section on educational philosophy, “God mandates that children be discipled for Christ. They must be trained in the biblical world view which honors Jehovah, the sovereign Creator of the universe. It recognizes that man was created in the image of God” and says “Man is presumed to be an evolutionary being shaped by matter, energy, and chance… God commands His people not to teach their children the way of the heathen.”
●Wisconsin Lutheran High School, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, says in its biology syllabus that it teaches, “evolutionists are ‘stuck’ because they have no god, therefore they must believe in evolution” and “young earth evidence a disaster to evolutionists.”
While we adherents of Monetary Sovereignty and MMT rail against the unnecessary money shortages endured by our schools — shortages the federal government easily could and should end — we also must acknowledge that if the money is not well managed, it may be spent for evil.
Ignorance, by teacher and parent, can overcome the intent of even the best funded school programs. Creationism is ignorance and teaching Christianity in public schools is traitorous. Adding dollars to the effort only exacerbates the harm.
So, yes our schools are underfunded. Similarly, our healthcare, retirement, anti-poverty, infrastructure and energy programs are underfunded. We always must remember, even with money, each can be perverted by those with evil intent, but that is not a reason to withhold money.
To detractors of Monetary Sovereignty, I agree that money does not solve all problems. Along with money there needs to be intelligence, honesty and effort. The shortage of money tends to worsen problems.
Too many of our children are taught creationism and mainstream economics. Unless they are particularly strong of mind, they will grow up ignorant — ignorant of subject and of the harm they do in passing this ignorance to their children and their peers.
Then they become the politicians and the judges who run our nation.

Why do you worry so much?
The interest rates are low, and the banks are solvent, and it is in reach for everybody to take out a loan and spend. There are enough money in the economy.

True, but I would rather have stupidity in some locales than austerity nationwide. Austerity is slavery and genocide. Moreover, Americans are burdened with over a trillion dollars worth of student loan debt, with no way to ever pay it off. This debt is incurred in all schools, whether or not they preach creationism.
Give me an America in which some schools teach creationism, rather than an America in which every city looks like Detroit. The hell of ignorance is better than the hell of dystopia.
2.) Creationism is an aspect of institutionalized religious dogma, which itself is a psychosis that plagues much of humanity. It is a game of “my imaginary friend is better than your imaginary friend.”
As children we believe in Santa Claus. As adults we trade Santa for Jesus, or for Mohammed, or Buddha, or Jehovah, or whatever. People murder each other while they pray to Santa Claus.
3.) In most nations the priests form a pact with the plutocracy. Priests champion the tyranny of the 1%, in exchange for direct or indirect bribes from the 1%. (After all, priests are politicians.) Thus, religious people ridicule the facts of Monetary Sovereignty almost as readily as do economics professors and “financial experts.”
4.) Worship of capitalism is a form of religion. It equates “goodness” with the subordination of every aspect of life to the accumulation of profit (i.e. the “rules of the market”). Because of this religion, Margaret Thatcher’s words, “There Is No Alternative,” no longer need to be spoken. They are accepted as normal, neutral, and non-ideological. Therefore humanity is committed to collective suicide in the name of preserving a system that generates scarcity, no matter how much is actually produced. Those who disagree with this suicide are vilified for not accepting “God’s word” (i.e. the priests’ dictates).
5.) Religious dogma does more than sustain ignorance and violence. It perverts everything into its opposite. For example, capitalist dogma says that austerity is prosperity, and that the truth of Monetary Sovereignty is a lie.

Is there a gov’t social program that isn’t underfunded? Of course the problem with gov’t run indoctrination camps (ie. schools) isn’t systemic, it’s just lack of funding. 20K+ for every inner city public school student in Chicago isn’t enough, they need more money and iPads. Let’s give every inner city school student an iPad and $1 millions each in funding and we’ll be turning out Rhodes scholars left and right.
Gov’t is the religion of progressives, stop funding it.

So I see you refused to answer my question. Name me one social gov’t welfare program that is “overfunded”?
BTW, saw this article on the WashingtonPost today:
“One of the Obama administration’s signature efforts in education, which pumped billions of federal dollars into overhauling the nation’s worst schools, failed to produce meaningful results, according to a federal analysis.
Test scores, graduation rates and college enrollment were no different in schools that received money through the School Improvement Grants program — the largest federal investment ever targeted to failing schools — than in schools that did not…
The School Improvement Grants program has been around since the administration of President George W. Bush, but it received an enormous boost under Obama. The administration funneled $7 billion into the program between 2010 and 2015 — far exceeding the $4 billion it spent on Race to the Top grants…
The administration awarded a total of $3.5 billion to those schools.”
Of course this was on top of the already 20K+ per student most inner city schools already get and of course printing more money didn’t solve the problem. So how much more gov’t money should gov’t pump into gov’t run schools to make them successful? Is there a number where you step back and admit that many social issues are systemic and printing more money isn’t the solution? Or is the answer, always “more”?

Editor’s note: Max’s point is that because added spending did not “solve the problem,” therefore spending should be cut. It is a nonsensical reflection of the BIG LIE spread by the rich, the lie that federal spending is paid for by taxpayers, and that the poor are lazy sloths who would rather receive “free stuff” than work.
Purveyors of the BIG LIE don’t want the public to understand that while money alone cannot solve problems, money is an important ingredient in solving such problems as poverty, poor education, poor health, poor living conditions, etc. Whether or not that money is spent productively, can only be decided on a case-by-case basis, but any failures are not due to money; they are human failures.
Space flight had many failures before it succeeded. Max probably would have used that as a reason why America should not have invested in space flight.
As for Max’s repeated claims that his questions are not answered, this a mere argument tactic. Max dismisses the facts and graphs provided in the repeated answers to his questions as “misleading.”
In short, the Max’s of the world do not want answers — in fact, they reject answers — but instead wish to put forth an agenda, which simply stated is: “Do not aid the poor. It makes them dependent.” (I.e., the poor are lazy.)
This is all part of the BIG LIE told by the rich: Cut federal programs such as Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, housing aids, education aids, etc. That will stimulate the poor to work harder. It is the lie told by the rich to widen the Gap between the rich and the rest. “Apply the whip” is their answer to all ills.
Max may or may not be rich, but he has fallen for the BIG LIE and sells it whenever he can. We thank him for providing this example.
